I am totally captivated by the new photographs from the Hubble telescope. I enjoy working from these images yet allowing myself the freedom to deepen tones, add light and brighten colours! When paintings this series, I found that I wanted to let the paint dry between coats and therefore each painting has about six layers of paint! These paintings seem to take me a few months to complete so I work on five or six at a time.
