For over thirty years, Laara has taught in a variety of venues. Her method of teaching has often incorporated an individual approach to honor each student's pace of learning and their unique creative process. She has taught watercolors, oils, acrylics, all drawing media, mixed media, improvisational drama, creative writing, healing art and private tutorials in creative development. During this time, she developed forty-five new programs and has taught thousands of students. One of her long time friends, Cathy Vavasour, of North Vancouver, B.C. estimates that she has taught well over 10,000 students during the course of her career as an art educator.
